The Friends of the Library of Rutherford is holding its annual Literary Character Contest on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from noon-3:00pm, at the Rutherford Public Library. This contest is open to all ages. Participants are encouraged to create their own costumes and perform or read a short selection representing a character from or an author of a literary work. There will be three prizes awarded: Most Creative, Best Depiction, and People’s Choice (at $1 per vote). Contestants should arrive fully dressed at noon for photos. The judging will begin at 1:00pm for “performances.” After judging, prizes will be awarded. Registration is free. To enter, pick up an entry form at the library or print one out here. The deadline to register is Monday, January 21. For more information, contact Linda Rynd of the Friends at 201-456-1897. Thanks to BCB Community Bank, who is generously sponsoring this event.
