New Exhibit: Against the Grain – Notable Women of the Meadowlands

The new exhibit, Against the Grain, features the women who have lived in the Meadowlands region and have been pioneers in a number of aspects of life.

Prominently featured are: Tessie McNamara from Lyndhurst, Nellie Katherine Morrow Parker from Hackensack, Sarah Kiersted from the Meadowlands prior to our current town dividing lines, and Cornelia Foster Bradford from Jersey City. Other notable women from the Meadowlands towns are also incorporated into the exhibit.

As an interactive feature of the exhibit, the Meadowlands Museum is asking the public for nominations of other notable women from the Meadowlands region who might be added to an evolving aspect of the exhibit over the months of the exhibit.
