MIX IT UP

January 27, 2018: Arts & Crafts & Board Games at Tamblyn Civic Center!
As part of the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign, the Rutherford Recreation Department is offering a monthly (September through February) “Mix it UP” session. Julia, Sesame Street’s newest character, was introduced to the neighborhood to teach kids about Autism and special needs. MIX IT UP Playgroup exposes typically developing kids 5-13 years old to their special needs peers – so they can learn about each other FROM each other!
Recreation staff will guide this playgroup alongside parent helpers on a rotating schedule. This will really “MIX IT UP” so some days the parent stays to help, other days the parent gets a ‘respite’ break.
6 Sunday afternoons: 12 noon – 2pm
Registration is at the Recreation Office. (Cash or check). Recreation is open until 7:00pm on Wednesday evenings!
The maximum number of participants accepted is 40 and paperwork MUST be filled out prior!
