RPS Referendum Public Presentation

Letter from John J. Hurley, Superintendent of Rutherford Public Schools
Dear Community Members,
Over the past three years, the Board of Education (BOE) has been identifying and studying the challenges facing the district so that we may maintain, improve, and expand successful programs for our students.
Following extensive research, site visits, meetings with community stakeholders, and community-wide surverys conducted by a committee of school and community members, the need for expanded and improved facilities became clear. A plan to address these concerns has been developed by the BOE and is currently being presented to the Rutherford community as a referendum vote on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. A referendum will ask the community to decide the direction of the future of the schools by voting to allow the BOE to bind for the needed improvements.
