DESCRIPTION:October 21\, 2018: Kidspot – Walk leisure lane at Memorial Park\, Potato sacks\, parachutes\, bubbles and hula hoops.\n \nAs part of the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign\, the Rutherford Recreation Department is offering a monthly (September through February) “Mix it UP” session. Julia\, Sesame Street’s newest character\, was introduced to the neighborhood to teach kids about Autism and special needs. MIX IT UP Playgroup exposes typically developing kids 5-13 years old to their special needs peers – so they can learn about each other FROM each other! \nRecreation staff will guide this playgroup alongside parent helpers on a rotating schedule. This will really “MIX IT UP” so some days the parent stays to help\, other days the parent gets a ‘respite’ break. \n6 Sunday afternoons: 12 noon – 2pm \nRegistration is at the Recreation Office. (Cash or check). Recreation is open until 7:00pm on Wednesday evenings! \nThe maximum number of participants accepted is 40 and paperwork MUST be filled out prior!

DESCRIPTION:The Rutgers Coaches Safety Certification Clinic will be held on Monday\, April 16\, 2018 at Tamblyn Field Civic Center starting at 6:30pm. \nFor insurance reasons: \nIf you are interested in coaching or assisting a Recreation team you must be Rutgers Safety Certified. \nPlease call the Recreation Department at 201-460- 3015 to reserve your spot.  Mike Mc Carthy will be teaching the course. \nAll coaches must also take an on-line concussion training course and send their certificate to the Recreation Department. \nhttps://www.cdc.gov/concussion/HeadsUp/Training/HeadsUpConcussion.html \nThis is a life – time certification. Coaches may re-take the course to refresh their remembrance.
