The Friends of the Library of Rutherford is holding its annual Literary Character Contest on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from noon-3:00pm, at the Rutherford Public Library. This contest is open to all ages. Participants are encouraged to create their own costumes and perform or read a short selection representing a character from or an author of a literary work. There will be three prizes awarded: Most Creative, Best Depiction, and People’s Choice (at $1 per vote).
School Facilities Forum
All are invited to attend a Rutherford Public Schools – School Facilities Forum to be held in the Rutherford High School Auditorium on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 7pm. Following a brief presentation by Superintendent Hurley, the community will be able to voice their thoughts regarding addressing identified facility needs.
Rutherford Fire Department escorting Santa Claus around town
The Rutherford Fire Department will be escorting Santa Claus around town on Saturday, December 15, 2018. Please listen for the sirens and make your way to your corner to meet Santa and some of his helpers. Thank you for your continued support.
68th Annual Holiday Parade
The Rutherford Chamber of Commerce’s 68th Annual Holiday Parade will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 4pm. This year’s Parade Grand Marshalls will be the Rutherford Volunteer Fire Department.
The parade participants will assemble at 3pm at the intersection of Union Avenue and Springfield Avenue. The parade will begin at 4pm and travel along Union Avenue to the reviewing stand in front of Borough Hall and exit on Donaldson Avenue.
