Memorial Day Service & Parade

Rutherford will honor our fallen service men and women on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2019.

There will be a Memorial Service at the Union Memorial Bridge followed by “Taps” Salute at Sunset Park.

The Memorial Day Parade then begins at Sunset Park at approximately 9am proceeding up Union Avenue to Park Avenue and finishing in front of Borough Hall with a solemn ceremony of remembrance.
8:00am Union Avenue Bridge Memorial Service for Veterans who lost their lives at sea
8:30am Sunset Park Memorial Service for WWI Veterans
9:00am Parade Starts: Posthumous Grand Marshals Six Laval Brothers from Rutherford who served in WWII
10:30am Town Hall Reviewing Stand Memorial Service for all Veterans who lost their lives in service of their country Commend The Laval Family’s Service during WWII

11:30am at 153 Wheaton Place Start of Program Presentation of Resolutions Presentation of Street Signage Presentation of Monument
