The Rutherford Board of Education has decided to bring a referendum to the Rutherford community on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. The community will have the opportunity to vote to bond for funding to expand and improve facilities throughout the district. Labor Day Street Fair
The Borough of Rutherford’s 43nd Annual Labor Day Street Fair will be held Monday, September 3, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Musical entertainment will be held at the Hutzel Memorial Band Shell in Lincoln Park starting at 11 a.m.
One of the most well attended street fairs in the state, visitors can expect to find over 250 vendors lining the streets, parks, and plazas featuring antiques, collectibles, and craft vendors from all over the East Coast.
National Night Out
The Rutherford Police Department will be participating in National Night Out’s 35th Anniversary on Tuesday, August 7th, 2018 in Lincoln Park between 6pm to 9pm. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and community camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. It enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.

The morning will start off with the Annual Baby Parade sponsored by Lightbridge Academy at Lincoln Park. Check in: 9:30am. Start time: 10am. And will be followed by the Junior Woman’s Club of Rutherford’s 11th Annual Children’s Chalk Drawing Contest in Lincoln Park at 10:30am. $1 to participate.
