This year’s Summer Concert Series starts Thursday, June 21st at 8pm in Lincoln Park/Hutzel Bandshell. “We are kicking it off with The Bruce Tribute a stellar salute to NJ’s own Bruce Springsteen. Cliffhanger Productions has a great lineup of bands for this year’s series. Come out and enjoy music under the stars and experience all that downtown Rutherford has to offer. In addition, we will be serving refreshments and proceeds from sales will be donated to Rutherford’s Food Pantry.

The Rutherford Farmers’ Market is returning for its 21st season. The market will be held in the Williams Plaza, off Park Avenue, on Wednesdays, 11am to 6pm, beginning June 20th, and on Saturdays, from 8am to 2pm, starting on June 23rd. There will be new vendors this year. The market is sponsored by the Borough of Rutherford.

The 8th Annual Andrew Ortega “Touch a Heart” 5K Run & Fun Walk will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10am at Memorial Park. Registration will begin at 8am. “Andrew was a 13-year-old whose life ended too soon on August 28, 2010, when he passed away from Sudden Cardiac Arrest.   Please help us honor Andrew’s memory by raising awareness of this condition and working toward preventing more untimely deaths.” 

Do you have a pair of eyeglasses that are no longer being used? That pair of eyeglasses can change another person’s life. The Rutherford Lions Club collects used eyeglasses and delivers them to the NJ Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center where the eyeglasses are cleaned and sorted by prescription strength. The recycled glasses are distributed to people in need in developing countries, during Lion Sight mission trips, where they will have the greatest impact. You can drop off your usable eyewear in the collection boxes at the Rutherford Post Office,
